Podere Costarelle is a recently fully restructured farm house, for one half 250 years old and for the other half 70 years old.
It has an annex with a covered heated pool which can be fully opened in the summer .
Fully Restructured, in 2002. Top quality local craftsmanship blends with exquisite Italian interior design and large use of old pieces of furniture from the owner’s family.
It is all stone built, has two floors and covers about 440 sq meters (4400 sq feet) .
The ‘younger’ part of the building is now a double ceiling very large living room-dining room on two levels.
Beautiful windows frame astonishing views of Val d’Orcia and of the Natural Reservation of Monte Rufeno, which begins right at the border of the 14 Hectares ( 35 acres) of the property
In the older part there are :
on the first floor, a large fully equipped kitchen, two bedrooms ( total 5 beds ) and three bathrooms.
on the ground floor two large bedrooms with a bathroom each, a small service room with one bed, and a laundry bathroom .
The ground floor has also a smaller kitchen , used in summer for easy access to the external dining area under the front porch.
The annex, 10 meters from the main building , is 75 sq meters large (750 sq feet) and covers a pool fed with deep underground thermal water which can be heated up to 35 C ( 95 F). Consider that San Casciano is almost 600 m altitude and swimming outside is a pleasure only for a couple of months . During the rest of the year a warm hydro massage is a much better option.
In the annex there is also an ‘emergency bedroom’ with double bed and a bathroom.
